We Got Litigation!

Citing a badly flawed development plan that will create severe traffic congestion, pollute our air and water, increase ambient noise levels, and obliterate valuable wildlife habitat and scenic resources, the Sierra Club's Orange Hills Task Force is preparing to file a lawsuit against the City of Orange and the Irvine Company.

The Task Force, composed of concerned local citizens, has retained the services of a noted environmental attorney with a solid track record. The lawsuit asks the court to rescind the development approvals the city granted the Irvine Company for the controversial Santiago Hills II and East Orange Planned Communities project.

"We are confident our lawsuit will be successful," says task force member Eric Noble. "There is a precedent: an appellate opinion forcing a different project to follow county general plan requirements concerning traffic flow on the very road adversely affected by this development -- Santiago Canyon."
